THE SECOND YEAR OF THE GTIME PROGRAM...
... at Aalborg University (AAU) (Denmark) with its specialisation in Entrepreneurial Engineering students develop mind-sets and gain skills that enable them to create and realise new value for people and organisations. Students gain insight into methods and processes as well as organisational and management principles in relation to innovation and entrepreneurship in both new and established companies.
Business development through technology, innovation and entrepreneurship are the key competencies of the future in the global business arena, both in start-up companies, established private organisations and the public sector knowledge and service organisations. Finding new ways to create value is increasingly a condition for both private and public organisations.
The semester(s) within the specialisation in Entrepreneurial Business Engineering at AAU Business School are based on three generic activities, which are part of the process of creating new value: Idea generation, realization, and development. Students will learn about methods, processes, and principles for management and organisations to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship and learn about business creation and development.
Another core competency of Aalborg University is its problem-based learning approach which is applied in different in group works. Students will be working closely with peers most of the time, and they are required to be present at the university on a daily basis and spend most of their day there. “The Aalborg Model for Problem Based Learning” is a method which is highly recognised internationally, and the university is host to a successful UNESCO chair in Problem Based Learning in Engineering Education and a Centre for PBL and Sustainability approved by UNESCO.
Students going to AAU can choose between joining the entire first semester of the Entrepreneurial Engineering program (30 ECTS):
Corporate Entrepreneurship, Management and Technology (5 ECTS)
Management of Technological Innovation and Applied Business Modelling (10 ECTS)
Semester Project incl. Executing Entrepreneurial Ideas (15 ECTS)
or joining only the course Semester Project incl. Executing Entrepreneurial Ideas (15 ECTS) and choosing electives offered at AAU (in total 30 ECTS are required for the first semester):

In the fourth semester, students write their master’s thesis.
As a GTIME graduate with a specialisation in Entrepreneurial Business Engineering, you have a variety of job options. Your skill profile is attractive for many types of companies and organisations in need of business development, including large private and public companies, small and medium-sized companies, start-up companies, as well as municipalities, regions and governmental agencies. Future job titles of successful graduates may be project manager, entrepreneur/CEO/CTO, business developer, process consultant, innovations manager or product and business developer.
