GTIME APPLICATION DATES & PROCEDURE
1. Check the admission requirements AND Perform Precheck
First, you will perform the precheck. During the precheck you will be asked to provide your personal details (e.g. day of birth) and details about your bachelor´s degree (e.g. university and GPA). If you pass the precheck, you will be able to hand in your application. Gather all relevant documents in time (e.g. proof of proficiency in English). You can find an overview of the relevant documents here. The application period for the winter semester at TUHH starts beginning of December and ends on 1st March, of the given year. Fill out the precheck form on the site to ensure your suitability for the program application. The precheck will be open from 1st of December and should ideally be finished before the 28th of February, of the year of your application.
2. Hand in application
You will receive the result of your precheck by email after a maximum of 14 days from your precheck form submission. Therefore, make sure that you check your emails regularly. Upload all relevant documents to the final application. Finally, submit the final application before the apllication deadline 1st March. There are no application fees.
3. Admission
You will receive the results of the application about one and a half months after the 1st of March. In case your application is successful, you get admission for the GTIME program. To complete the admission process step, you have to accept the admission by 1st of September.
4. Enrolment
The last step is the enrolment at the university. To successfully start your GTIME journey, you have to transfer the tuition fees until 1st of September and you have to enroll until 1st of October.
PRE-QUALIFICATION
A Bachelor's or equivalent degree from a recognized university in engineering, science and technology, business engineering, business administration (including business informatics, business mathematics and business geography) or economics, as well as a good previous academic performance are required for admission.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
This Master's degree course is entirely conducted in English. Therefore please note that all applicants whose native language is not English must submit a valid proof of proficiency in English, even though English might be an official language in their home country and even though their previous education might have been conducted in English language. Valid means that any certificate may not be older than two years. Candidates must prove their proficiency in English by one of the following tests:
A valid TOEFL score report. The minimum TOEFL score for admission to TUHH is 90 internet-based / 577 paper-based. The TUHH institution code is 8165, a department code is not required. TUHH does only accept the internet-based and paper-based tests! TOEFL ITP will not be accepted!
Note: University of Strathclyde does not accept TOEFL certificates. Students who plan to attend UoS in the second year are required to hand in an IELTS report (see below)
A valid IELTS-Academic score report. The minimum overall IELTS score for admission to TUHH is 6.5.
A valid Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English
A valid Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English
A valid “telc English C1”-result
A formal proof of proficiency in German is not required for admission to this program, but a basic knowledge of German will be helpful for everyday life during the first year in Hamburg.
Regarding the study visit at the second-year partner institutions no country specific language skills are required.
